Nationals Leader David Littleproud says China’s strict quotas on Australia’s beef exports will particularly impact “regional communities”.
“We’re gutted, I mean, this is a billion dollars potentially that will come out of the wallets of Australian farmers,” Mr Littleproud told Sky News Australia.
“This is really the impact of significant imports from South America, and it’s South America that should be singled out, not Australia.
“We’re less than 10 per cent of the actual total beef imports into China.”
