Man uses flamethrower in police standoff | 7NEWS

A 43-year-old man from Nangara led police on a chase through Perth’s northern suburbs before engaging in a tense 30-minute standoff in Morangaroo. During the confrontation on Curtin Road, Sean Malcolm Anderson wielded a piece of wood and repeatedly ignited a flammable spray can like a flamethrower while officers attempted to negotiate. He faces seven charges including reckless driving, no authority to drive, and being armed in a way that may cause fear, and was denied bail until his January 19th court appearance.
