French President Emmanuel Macron has confirmed French troops will be deployed to Greenland for military exercises.
This comes after talks between Denmark, Greenland, and the United States, which exposed what were described as “fundamental disagreements” over Greenland’s future.
Mr Macron announced the first military team will be reinforced in the coming days with land, air, and maritime forces.
The French president insists France must play a central role in responding to security threats and in standing alongside sovereign nations.
