A ceasefire agreement has been signed between the Syrian government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The deal will give control of strategic oil fields and infrastructure to Syria’s government.
It marks a blow for the SDF, which will now be dismantled along with its long held ambitions to preserve the autonomy it held in the northeast for over a decade.
