Parliament back early for a special two-day sitting in the wake of the Bondi attack

Politicians have returned to Canberra early this week for a special two-day sitting aimed at passing new hate speech and gun ownership laws following the Bondi terror attack.

Today was spent honouring the victims of the shooting, the first responders and the families left to heal five weeks on from the tragedy.

While outside the chamber, negotiations have been underway between the Prime Minister and the Opposition leader on a package of post-Bondi reforms.
