The US military conducted an anti-narco terror operation in the Eastern Pacific. The American forces carried out a lethal strike on a suspected drug trafficking vessel, killing two people and leaving one survivor. The US Central Command stated that the vessel was engaged in narco-trafficking operations and was travelling along known smuggling routes. According to SOUTHCOM, the strike was authorised by its commander, Francis L. Donovan, and carried out by Joint Task Force Southern Spear. The Monday attack has brought the total killed to at least 130 people in 38 such American strikes in the last six months. US forces began targeting alleged drug-smuggling boats in early September 2025.
