White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt unloaded on former president Barack Obama, accusing him of spreading “lies” about voter ID amid the SAVE Act debate.
Obama was among prominent Democrats encouraging House lawmakers to vote against the measure.
“You know how badly the Democrats are panicking when they bring out Obama to spread lies about voter ID,” Leavitt posted to X.
Leavitt backed her attack with poll screenshots which show nearly 90 per cent of Americans support voter ID laws.
She also highlighted a clip of Obama showing his own driver’s license from a past election to expose Democrat hypocrisy.
Leavitt’s remarks come after the House passed a controversial election overhaul that would mandate photo ID and proof of citizenship for federal voting.
