Queensland braces for heavy rain and flash flooding | 7NEWS

A major weather warning covers a 2,000-kilometre stretch of Queensland as an ex-tropical cyclone brings heavy rain and potential flash flooding to the east and southeast coasts. Widespread falls of 80 to 150 millimetres have already been recorded in the past 24 hours, with similar amounts expected, particularly affecting the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay Burnett, Capricornia, Central Highlands and Coalfields regions. The Bureau of Meteorology’s long-range forecast indicates most of Australia will experience drier than average conditions through April, May and June, following the current monsoonal weather pattern.
