President Donald Trump has said US forces have “totally obliterated” military targets on Iran’s Kharg Island and warned oil infrastructure there could be attacked next.
Trump posted on Truth Social stating, “the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East and totally obliterated every military target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island.”
The announcement came shortly after Trump fronted reporters before boarding Air Force One to fly to Florida on Friday saying, “Just about everything is gone and you’ll see that, but today we’ve had some very, very big hits, very powerful hits.”
It’s understood the island accounts for 90 per cent of Iran’s oil exports and is an economic lifeline for the regime in Tehran.
