More than 7,000 Iranian visa holders will be temporarily banned from entering Australia due to concerns they won’t be able to return.
The move will be enforced under new laws aimed at protecting the integrity and sustainability of the immigration system.
The legislation, passed earlier this month, allows the government to block temporary visa holders from selected countries for up to six months.
