Russia has launched its biggest 24-hour aerial attack on Ukraine since the start of its full-scale invasion four years ago. Nearly a thousand drone and missile strikes were carried out on cities across the country, killing five people and injuring dozens more.
Andriy Sadovyi, mayor of Lviv, where a UNESCO-listed monastery was damaged, said: “I have never seen anything like this in my memory, because those were targeted attacks on residential buildings today and the targeted attacks on the heart of Lviv.”
