Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is under fire after Donald Trump singled out Australia over its lack of involvement in the protection of the Strait of Hormuz.
Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson said the Prime Minister must stand up and explain how Australia had been criticised by the president twice in a month.
“The US is our strongest defence ally, and so this is pretty grim news overnight from the United States,” Ms Henderson told Sky News Australia.
“This is just a pretty dire situation, and the Prime Minister, frankly, has got a lot of explaining to do.”
