The share of electric vehicle sales in Australia has reached a record high.
While it might be too early to tell, there’s little doubt that higher petrol prices could be influencing buyers.
The Australian Institute of Petroleum said today the national average for a litre of unleaded fell 13 cents last week from a record high.
It includes the partial impact of the government’s 26 cent per litre cut to the fuel excise, which took effect on 1 April.
But petrol prices are still around 40 per cent above pre-war levels.
