According to journalist and royal expert Robert Jobson, Prince William’s concerns about the relationship between his brother and Meghan were so great that “He’d sought assurances from the Queen that Harry’s bride would not be wearing any of Princess Diana’s jewellery, even though his own wife was allowed to wear it.”
At their wedding in 2018, Meghan ended up wearing Queen Mary’s Diamond Bandeau Tiara, even though she reportedly requested to wear the Spencer Tiara.
Although she didn’t get to don any of her late mother-in-law’s jewellery at St. George’s Chapel, she did wear Diana’s iconic aquamarine ring to the reception at Frogmore House.
