While already a household name in her native Bulgaria, pop singer DARA has now secured her place on the international stage, delivering her country’s first-ever Eurovision victory.
The 27-year-old says her grand-final-winning song Bangaranga is about “the moment that you choose to lead through love and not fear”.
Australia’s Delta Goodrem finished fourth — Australia’s best result in ten years.
“I’m so blown away by the love and support, I can’t even begin to say thank you,” said Goodrem.
“I’m absolutely stoked … I’m honoured I got to go on the iconic Eurovision stage”.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also congratulated Goodrem on her performance at the song contest, saying she should be “very, very proud of her efforts and all Australians are proud”.
