A framework for a ceasefire agreement has been reached between Lebanon and Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the IDF will hand over some occupied territory to Lebanon as part of the deal.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has praised the negotiations, hailing them as a breakthrough.
“It will take a lot of work and some time to get back to that point, but we believe today is the first step in that journey,” he said.
“And the first step is sometimes the hardest step, but it’s the one we’re taking together today.”
