FIFA has overturned a red card suspension for USA striker Folarin Balogun following reported intervention by President Donald Trump. Balogun, who was suspended for stomping on an opponent’s foot, had his one-match ban replaced with a one-year probation after Trump allegedly contacted FIFA’s head. This marks the first time since 1970 that a player has received a red card yet been allowed to play the following match, prompting fury from Belgium and football legends.
