A US Air Force RC-135W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft disappeared from public flight-tracking systems while operating over the Barents Sea, north of Russia’s Murmansk region. The aircraft flew from RAF Mildenhall in Britain toward Norway before entering the strategic Arctic waters. Its tracking signal later disappeared, reportedly around 400 kilometres from the Russian border.
