A20 Pro is Apple’s first 2nm iPhone chip, touting better heat control and on-device AI

Apple just unveiled its A20 Pro system on a chip for its new folding iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro line, plus the C2 modem, which will help them connect to 5G. Apple’s new A20 Pro is the first high-volume smartphone processor to be made on TSMC 2 nanometer — its most advanced node, only made in Taiwan. The C2 is the second generation modem Apple has made in-house, in a move that further reduces reliance on cellular modem leader Qualcomm. CNBC’s Katie Tarasov has the story.
