Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private security team conducted a risk analysis of the school prior to the beginning of the year, HELLO! Magazine reported that the children have had to change schools because of security concerns during the commute—which could only be assessed once the school year actually started.
According to the publication, issues had emerged during school drop-off and pick-up times when heavy traffic in the area made it difficult for the Sussex convoy to stay together.
Still, a spokesperson for the Sussexes told PEOPLE that Harry and Meghan “remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family,” adding that the decision had nothing to do with the school or the “exceptional care the children have received there”.
