🔴 ICC LIVE FROM THE HAGUE: Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to make his first public appearance at the International Criminal Court in more than a year as his landmark case moves forward.
The 81-year-old former president is appearing before ICC judges in The Hague as the court considers issues surrounding his ability to participate in proceedings. Duterte faces allegations of crimes against humanity linked to his controversial anti-drug campaign during his time as Davao mayor and Philippine president.
Duterte was arrested in March 2025 and transferred to ICC custody. The court confirmed charges against him earlier this year, and his trial is scheduled to begin in November 2026.
