Disability rights campaigner Baroness Jane Campbell of Surbiton made history on Tuesday by becoming the first person to use an AI-generated voice in the UK Parliament, during a debate in the House of Lords about the government’s plans for social care.
“I wanted to show the world that no matter how complex or severe your disability is, you can achieve just about anything if you have the right support and the can-do attitude of the people around you. And I would say I am very grateful to the House of Lords because it’s not always seen as the most progressive body,” she said, speaking to BBC.
