For quantum physicist Carlo Rovelli, giving up is very often a wise step. Looking at Galileo’s contribution to science, he says, by giving up on the question of what is the true velocity of the moon, Galileo was able to come to a much more meaningful understanding that velocity is only relative to something else. “I think giving up very often is a step which is wisdom because you’re asking the wrong question”, says Rovelli.
