Democrat Annie Andrews has pulled off a stunning upset in South Carolina, defeating Republican Darline Graham to win the state’s US Senate race. The victory marks a major breakthrough for Democrats in a traditionally Republican stronghold, where Donald Trump won by a wide margin in 2024. Andrews, a paediatrician, has broken the GOP’s decades-long hold on the Senate seat, delivering a significant setback to Trump and Republicans. Watch her victory speech as she celebrates the historic win, thanks supporters and reflects on the political shift in South Carolina. The result sends shockwaves through the US midterm elections and could reshape the balance of power in Congress.
