An Australian man using a false name has been promoting an “ethical” internet scheme called the “Lightweb”. The platform is yet to launch but has roped in thousands of people, raising as much as $19 million from backers.
NSW man David “Stryker”, whose real name is David Sevelle, has now been revealed to have a history of leaving “unsophisticated” investors out of pocket. ASIC has confirmed it is making “preliminary inquiries” into the internet startup.
