The 2027 Invictus Games–founded by Prince Harry–is set to be hosted by the English city of Birmingham, marking the first time that the biannual sporting event will return to the UK after the games first took place in London in 2014.
Although King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince William all attended the inaugural Invictus Games more than a decade ago, it’s unclear whether any of the royal family will attend the 2027 games–though Harry has reportedly already sent invitations to Buckingham Palace.
The invites come amid widespread speculation that King Charles and Prince Harry are attempting to reconcile after years of public estrangement.
Royal insider Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express that Meghan “will, of course, be expected to attend in Birmingham, not to do so would be a public humiliation… “Meghan will calculate that [a reconciliation] could lead to useful PR in Birmingham which she rather obviously needs.”
The last time the Duchess of Sussex was in the UK was for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.
