Music as therapy for children traumatised by war in Gaza

Instructors at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music have continued their lessons in Gaza City, despite nearly two years of war.

They say it’s a powerful tool to help children traumatised by the conflict, with soft harmonies replacing the deadly beat of bombs and bullets.

The conservatory was founded in the occupied West Bank but has been a lifeline for aspiring musicians in Gaza, ever since it opened a branch there 13 years ago.
