Multiple wildfires have erupted across California amid a severe heatwave, with the largest, the Pickett Fire in Napa County, growing to more than 3,200 acres.
Evacuation orders were issued for residents near Calistoga as crews battled rugged terrain and soaring temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius.
CalFire said the blaze was just 7% contained as of Friday evening, though no injuries or structural damage had been reported.
Firefighting aircraft and ground crews continue suppression efforts, as officials warn residents to stay alert during the state’s worst heatwave of the year.
