The self-declared “sovereign citizen” is actually an American thing. In Australia, we broadly use the umbrella term of “pseudolaw” to describe various beliefs that laws are illegitimate and the government has become corrupted.
We spoke to investigative reporter Ariel Bogle about what it actually looks like in practice.
