More women are taking up space in STEM

Less than 20 per cent of qualified astronauts to date have been women and an even smaller percentage have actually been to space, but the representation of women among astronauts is changing.

Two astronauts at this week’s International Astronautical Congress, the UAE’s Nora Al Matrooshi and Australia’s Katherine Bennell-Pegg, are among those transforming the face of the space industry.
