The University of Newcastle and Western Sydney University are being sued in the NSW Supreme Court for running unaccredited degrees.
The two degrees involve students who commenced the University of Newcastle’s Bachelor of Medical Engineering (honours) in 2018 and 2019, and Western Sydney University’s Master of Advanced Imaging (MRI) course.
Students say they have racked up HECS debts of around $50,000 for courses that leave them unable to pursue their chosen careers.
