Trump Hails Canadian PM Mark Carney As ‘World Class Leader’ Amid Trade Tensions | 10 News

Trump has said the United States and Canada have “natural conflict” on trade but there is also “mutual love”, as he hosted the country’s Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House.

Carney is on his second visit to the White House in five months as he deals with increasing pressure to address US tariffs on steel, autos and other goods that are hurting Canada’s economy.

Despite looming tensions, the US President hailed his Canadian counterpart as a “world-class leader” and joked trade talks with Canada lag because he wants to be “great,” too.
