In a moment of bipartisanship, the leaders of Australia’s two major political parties welcomed a long-sought deal towards a Gaza ceasefire on Thursday.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the signing of the 20-point peace plan by Israel and Hamas is “a ray of light”.
He said there’s been a growing international momentum to bring peace and security to the Middle East.
Opposition leader Sussan Ley also welcomed the deal, saying it “should inspire hope in Australia and across the world”.
