According to royal biographer Robert Hardman, the royal parents are committed to ensuring that Charlotte and Louis are treated the same way as their older brother George, who – one day – will be king.
In an appearance on the Queens, Kings, and Dastardly Things podcast, Hardman explained, “Prince George is the heir, and that’s the way it’s going to be… You can’t change that. But there are ways, I think, in which you can try and ensure that you don’t leave the younger ones feeling they are any less loved or any less relevant”.
The royal biographer added that it’s William and Catherine’s wish that Charlotte and Louis don’t grow up with the same “resentment” that other younger siblings like Prince Harry and the late Queen Elizabeth’s sister Princess Margaret did in their respective childhoods.
