Denmark has followed in Australia’s footsteps by announcing a political agreement to ban access to social media for anyone aged under 15.
The measures would set that age limit for access to social media but give some parents — after a specific assessment — the right to give consent to let their children access social media from age 13.
Danish digitalisation minister Caroline Olsen said they will target tech companies that “create [the] most harm” against children.
“Our clear recommendation to the parents is please don’t have your children on these social media platforms before the age of 15,” she said.
