Another major deadly typhoon hits Philippines | First step towards end of US shutdown

The Philippines has again faced a wave of destruction as Super Typhoon Fung-Wong made landfall overnight. Residents tonight are reeling from the damage unleashed by the sixth major natural disaster they’ve endured in as many weeks.

At least four people have been killed and more than a million were evacuated across the nation. A storm so vast its 1800-kilometre length spanned two-thirds of the Philippines. The eye of the storm hit the eastern Aurora province on the mainland in Luzon overnight.
