Ghislaine Maxwell to request commute on sex-trafficking sentence amid cozy prison treatment claims

Convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell is preparing to ask US President Donald Trump to commute her sex-trafficking sentence.

According to leaked documents reported by ABC News, Maxwell “is preparing a ‘commutation application’” for her 20-year federal prison sentence.

In a letter written to the president by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee, they claim Maxwell is “coming” to Trump for his “direct consideration”.

President Trump has the power to pardon Maxwell or help reduce her sentence via a “commutation”.

Trump was asked about the possibility of pardoning Maxwell, with him saying, “I’m allowed to do it… But it’s something I have not thought about.”
