Should you change your lifestyle based on your menstrual cycle?

Cycle syncing is all over Instagram, but evidence for specific tips like cauliflower at ovulation or sweet potato in the luteal phase, is fairly weak. Studies show we may naturally eat a bit more in those phases, and that sugary or salty foods might worsen PMS, but the data is mostly self-reported.

Exercise research is mixed too, some studies suggest the follicular phase may support higher training capacity, while the luteal phase may feel tougher. But big reviews say differences in performance are small to none. The science just isn’t clear yet, so take cycle syncing claims with a pinch of salt.
