Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina is barrelling towards Western Australia’s northern coast after battering parts of the Northern Territory.
Greater Darwin saw rainfalls of 150 to 200 millimetres and wind gusts of over 100 km per hour, with trees and powerlines down in many areas.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting conditions to ease for Darwin as the system moves southwest.
ABC meteorologist Nate Byrne says the cyclone is likely to be downgraded to a category 2 system when it approaches northern WA.
