‘Mutually assured destruction’: Reactions to the COP30 climate summit deal

There have been mixed reactions to the deal struck at the climate summit in Brazil with one climate expert labelling the inability to agree to stronger action on climate change as ‘mutually assured destruction’.

COP30 failed to produce a roadmap to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, with countries instead agreeing to boost funding to help poorer nations adapt to climate change.
