A retaining wall collapsed at a construction site on Boundary Street, West End, Brisbane, killing a 45-year-old worker and trapping a 19-year-old for over an hour. Emergency services freed the surviving worker who was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening chest and leg injuries. The two victims are believed to be related, and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is leading the investigation.
