Police say 20-year-old Jayson Joseph Michaels has been arrested for allegedly planning a mass casualty terrorist attack in Perth, motivated by white supremacy. He is the first person in WA’s history to be arrested and charged with preparing a terrorist attack.
The arrest comes weeks after police charged Liam Alexander Hall, 32, with a terrorism-related offence. He allegedly threw a homemade bomb into a crowd on January 26, but it did not detonate.
Police allege Mr Michaels was radicalised online and planned the attack in a notebook he kept at home.
