Anyone caught not wiping down equipment after use or not re-racking their weights at two ChasingBetter247 gyms in Perth could be hit with the three-figure penalty.
The gyms’ owner Rob Dicey told Yahoo Lifestyle, “You see a lot of frustrated members when you walk into typical gyms that don’t have [these] policies because, unfortunately, you get a small amount of people who will leave sweaty equipment and don’t wipe things down.”
“If you have to unload 100 kilos before you can even do a warm up because someone didn’t put their equipment away, then that’s not a very good experience.”
Although some gymgoers have complained that the punishment seems harsh, Rob said that the majority of members were thankful for the changes.
