Australiaâs biggest funeral fireworks director Craig Hull makes a living loading the dearly departedâs ashes into fireworks, and blasting them into the air.
Craig told Yahoo Lifestyle that while his method is unconventional, it can be an incredible way for people to pay their respects, explaining:
âYou get a lot of cheering, which you donât usually get at funerals. Itâs like your own New Yearâs Eve fireworks.â
The business began after he learned the intricacies of pyrotechnics and even nabbed a gig for the Sydney New Yearâs Eve show, just so he could legally and correctly fire his dogâs ashes into the air.
Craig added, âThe fireworks are spectacular. We choreograph them to music. Clients get to pick the music and the colours, and we bend over backwards to get locations that wouldnât normally be available.â
âItâs more uplifting than a burial, and youâre looking up into the skies, not down into a dug out hole in the ground.â
