Brisbane woman Leila Navarro told Yahoo Lifestyle she printed her job application on a cake and hand-delivered it to the Australian clothing brand Beginning Boutique.
Although the 20-year-old backer lacked the professional experience for the social media assistant role, she hoped the tasty treat would demonstrate her creativity and initiative.
Leila explained, âI was scrolling Instagram at 11pm one night when I saw the job and really wanted to apply.â
âI had seen people overseas put their resumes on different foods, like doughnuts and cupcakes. So I thought I could do that too.â
Despite Beginning Boutiqueâs video about Leilaâs cake resume garnering more than 10 million views, Leila didnât end up getting the job, but, the company did arrange a 12-week partnership between Leila and the social media team to help the 20-year-old learn the ropes, as she hopes to one day open her own bakery.
Leila added, âI’m a bit disappointed that I didn’t get the job, but I’m also over the moon about this opportunity they’ve also given meâ.
