Speaking to SEN Radio, Gia claimed the Channel 9 show has had a particularly big effect on her eight-year-old daughter.
She said, “It’s just a bit hard for her. [She’s] coming home crying saying, ‘Somebody picked on me and said that your mum’s this and that’. And I’m just like ‘Oh my God’, because she’s never seen this side of me. I’m not like this in day-to-day life. I don’t walk down the street and call somebody a name, like it’s just not who I am… It’s just been very confronting.”
Gia went on to say she didn’t actually think about the realities of being on the program and how it might impact her and her daughter’s life once the cameras stopped rolling.
She added, “Being a mum for me is my number one priority. If I could go back in time, I probably wouldn’t have gone on MAFS.”
