Nigel Farage has unveiled one of Reform UK’s most hardline immigration proposals, pledging to suspend the UK’s asylum system for five years if his party wins power. Farage says a future Reform UK government would stop processing new asylum claims, declare pending applications void and deport people whose claims are rejected.
The proposal would also abolish asylum tribunals and most legal refugee resettlement routes, while reviewing asylum decisions made during the previous five years. Reform UK says the policy is intended to restore control over Britain’s borders and address illegal migration and small boat crossings
