United States Vice President JD Vance addressed a campaign rally in Tyler, Texas, endorsing Republican candidate Ken Paxton in the race for the United States Senate while sharply criticising Democratic opponent James Talarico.
Vance highlighted Paxton’s legal record as Texas Attorney General, pointing to billions of dollars won in court against major technology corporations and pharmaceutical firms over opioids, as well as multiple lawsuits challenging federal policies. Vance emphasised federal support for the domestic energy sector, officially announcing that the administration is invoking the Defense Production Act to expand the Delek refinery in Tyler to produce millions of gallons of commercial and military fuel.
Contrasting Paxton’s record with Talarico’s platform, Vance argued that the Democratic challenger promotes extreme ideological policies on education, energy, and gender that contradict Texas values, asserting: ‘Talarico cannot outrun his record.’ Vance concluded by urging attendees to support Paxton on November 3 to safeguard Texas energy jobs, border security, and regional economic prosperity.
