The number of reported scams have fallen this year, but those scams are robbing victims of more money.
The National Anti-Scam Centre says the ACCC’s Scamwatch unit received just over 108,000 reports of scams in the first six months of this year – down 24 per cent.
But their value has increased by 26 per cent with disadvantaged groups often targeted.
