During the TV show Søren Vester’s Garden, the Danish queen consort was asked if her children also enjoy the castle’s gardens, to which she replied: “Our children are outside a lot.”
“I don’t think they think, ‘Now I’m going to out into nature.’ They think, ’It’s nice to get fresh air and exercise in nature.”
The Danish royal family is known to lead a particularly active lifestyle.
Denmark’s King Frederik is a keen runner, all four of Mary and Frederik’s children have competed in the King’s annual race, the Royal Run.
